Caregiver Jules 4 Rog Jules 4 Rog mountainrain Rog, mountainrain My husband was diagnosed with ALS on September 22, 2005. It's been a long and tough road, but he is doing well and I look forward to many more fun filled years with him and our two boys - altogether. His progression is fairly slow and has focused in his hands and lower arms, so I consider myself very lucky and thank God each day. We take one day at a time and do try and stay positive. Caregiver Thee General Thee General LeeDX LeeDX Lee and I met in 2006 and in 2007 he was DX'd with ALS so we are living our lives with this disease and don't plan on giving in. I'm here to learn on how to cope with it and perhaps be of some help to others. Everyday there is something new and we have to adapt in different ways. I'm a active person and enjoy being outdoors and taking care of our horses. This year he has not been able to ride but still enjoys being around them. My prayers are with everyone one of you. Caregiver Kathryn Kathryn bluffy bluffy I care for my husband, Jeff Repetto (Bluffy), 43, since his diagnosis in August of 2003. He has progressed very quickly. He is now using a feeding tube, on a vent, and can only communicate by using his eyes. We've been through almost everything, so we have lots of useful information to share. The one thing I always say, no question is too stupid. Icon_message
Caregiver RCB RCB I retired in January 2008 and in February 2008 my husband (Bulldog) was diagnosed with ALS after an initial diagnosis of PLS. We like to scuba dive and hope to be able to do this together at least one more time. We loved to dance and take motorcycle trips but have to find substitutions for these activities. We love his kids, our grandkids, our bulldog, and our Westie. We are taking up swimming and yoga for fun and exercise. I need to get back into belly dancing . . . good exercise and Bulldog likes to watch -- lol. ;-) Icon_message

Caregiver kstafne kstafne sstafne sstafne I'm a caregiver to my husband Scott and mom to our daughters Eva, 3 1/2, and Miranda, 7 months. I enjoy gardening, wine, photography, and spending time with my family. I used to enjoy beating Scott at Scrabble, tending a huge garden, ballroom dancing, going out for breakfast to read the paper in relative peace, playing Boggle, traveling to other countries...and many other things that ALS has taken out of our lives. I also work full time as a management and technology consultant, which I find brings me a great deal of satisfaction, accomplishment, and respite from caregiving. Icon_message
Caregiver muratbay muratbay     My name's Murat Bayramoglu, living in Istanbul. My brother - has ALS since 2005. Married and has 3 lovely children. Icon_message
Caregiver TimHorgan TimHorgan I'm part of a team that is providing help to a good friend of ours. Icon_message
Caregiver Snowman Snowman I am a managment consultant and car enthusiast. I collect and race old muscle cars and sports cars, particularly Corvettes. My wife and I were married in 2004 and she was diagnosed in 2006. She is a complete inspiration, given how she has taken on the challenges in front of her. I think we've done a great job with keeping people in the loop and, at the same time, giving her the room and the privacy to work on staying as healthy and fit as possible. I'm happy to help if you have questions about that. Icon_message

Caregiver burnett2112 michaelkelly818 My name is Patty and I am a married mother of 4 children. My sixth is due on Christmas Eve. We lost our 5th child last year at 5 months old to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. I am primary caregiver to my father who has ALS. He's only recently been diagnosed, so we are just at the beginning of our journey. My life is already my family so I pray that I can find the strength to get through this with my dad as a team.
