What is Xyrem?

XYREM® is a brand name for gamma hydroxybutyrate prepared in an oral solution containing 0.5 g/mL sodium oxybate. It is used for the treatment of narcolepsy to reduce too much daytime sleepiness and reduce cataplexy (weak or paralyzed muscles) attacks.
