What is Vioxx?

Vioxx was a brand name for the drug rofecoxib, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used in the treatment of athritis and other painful conditions. It was withdrawn from the market in 2004 following concerns about an increased risk of stroke and heart attack.
