What is Heart biopsy?

A heart biopsy is a test in which small pieces of tissue are taken from the heart muscle. A heart biopsy is done to look for myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle. Another reason for undergoing a heart biopsy is to screen for signs of rejection after a heart transplant.
