What is Influenza Vaccine-Flu Shot?

Used to provide active immunity to influenza virus strains contained in the vaccine. Optimal time to receive vaccine is October-November, prior to exposure to influenza; however, vaccination should continue into December and throughout the influenza season as long as vaccine is available.
